Lake Baptist Church was started in 1938 by Mr. I.W. Wyrick, and met in the Grange Hall. In the years following, it was moved to the Schoolhouse, the Town Hall, and then in 1946 built the basement at the present location.

In 1952, Rev. Kenneth Slack came to Lake serving under F.B.H.M. The Macks labored at Lake for four years, during which time the upper structure, now known as the foyer, was enclosed.

Rev. Paul Acker, the second Missionary Pastor, also served under F.B.H.M. for four years at Lake During the ministry of the Ackers, the inside of the church building, now known as the foyer, was completed and parsonage built.

Ben Chapman was our first Pastor as we became self-supporting. Pastor Chapman was at Lake for four years. The baptistery in the old church building was put in and the platform enclosed, and the wall paneled.

Rev. Donald Smithgall became Pastor in 1964. He labored at Lake for six years.

Ronald Lewis was at Lake for one year.

Rev. Glenn Williams was at Lake for two years.

Rev. Wesley Briggs became Pastor in December 1973. He served for five years.

Rev. James Leasure became Pastor in 1978. During his ministry the old part of the church was changed to a foyer, and the new church building was added on. The entire building was paid for early, and the church held a mortgage burning ceremony in 1995. Pastor Leasure retired after serving for 20 years.

Frederick W. Pletz became Pastor in May of 1999. He served until August of 2005.

Rev. Terry Hose came to fill the pulpit in October of 2005 and was voted in as Pastor in April of 2007and pastored until May 2021.

Michael Diedrich was called in October of 2022, and currently serves as the pastor.
